We work with some fantastic venues across the Scottish Borders, one of these is the home or Sir Walter Scott, Abbotsford House near Melrose. Built by Sir Walter Scott using the proceeds from his popular poems and stories, Abbotsford House sits next to the Tweed with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. In Scott's time Abbotsford was the venue for parties and dinners for friends, family and special guests and it still is today. With the addition of the contemporary visitor centre Abbotsford has a venue to suit all occasions for celebrations.
The Hope Scott Wing
The Hope Scott Wing was added to Abbotsford by John and Charlotte Hope Scott and was lived in by the family until 2004, it is now available for hire and sleeps up to 14 in luxury en-suite accommodation, the dining room seats 16.
We have had the pleasure of providing private dining for guests staying in the Hope Scott Wing, is the perfect setting for a family retreat or for an intimate dinner party.

The Sir Walter Scott Dining Room
The Sir Walter Scott Dining Room is the heart of the historic house and a room where many famed guests enjoyed hospitality from the great man. The Dining room has played host to royalty and heads of state and you could join the long list of VIP's to dine here too. The prestige of this space makes it the perfect location for those moments where you need to impress your guests or simply want to indulge yourself by partaking in a truly unique and authentic historical dining experience.

Ochiltree's Dining by day is the stylish and friendly cafe situated on the first floor of the Abbotsford visitor centre. With commanding views across the Abbotsford Estate and Tweed valley it truly is a place to eat and relax like no other. By night, Ochiltree's comes alive and offers a vibrant and exciting party space that is very adaptable. Perfect for wedding receptions, larger parties and corporate events alike.
