We are privileged to organise weddings and events in some of the most beautiful venues in Scotland and the North of England. This includes everything from historic houses, art galleries and museums to country fields with fabulous views, beach locations and even hilltop settings. Whether it’s a dream wedding, charity ball, birthday party or a key business event, we have the expertise and experience to find the perfect venue, and then plan and deliver an amazing event for you and your guest.
We often get asked which venue would be best to meet the needs of both our customer and the event, so here are just some of the wonderful venues we have worked with previously.
If you are looking at hosting an intimate dinner, we would suggest that you consider Ferniehirst Castle. Sitting just a few miles from the famous border point of Carter Bar between England and Scotland and equidistant from Newcastle and Edinburgh, Ferniehirst Castle has hosted fine banquets and Rockin’ Ceilidhs for centuries. We regularly enjoy catering fine dining dinner parties and annual celebrations here.
Insider tip: What’s more, if you do want to push the boat out the venue can accommodate a marquee for larger numbers. Could this be the perfect venue for you?
There are many ideal locations including Floors Castle, one of Scotland’s hidden gems and home of the Duke of Roxburghe. This stunning 18th century castle provides a wonderful backdrop for corporate events.
Thirlstane Castle, which is one of Scotland’s finest stately homes with stunning exteriors and parkland is the ideal location for dining, exhibitions and offers wonderful location shots.
Ochiltree’s Dining at Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott is also a popular choice for business events including seminars, product launches and other private events. The modern space is well equipped for presentations as well as more glitzy dinner dances or drinks receptions!
For weddings the choice is endless but is often influenced by guest numbers, budget and geographic location. Romantic venues such as Aikwood Tower, which at nearly 500 years old is steeped in history and romance. It’s a perfect marriage of ancient and modern – offering a unique Scottish castle experience with five-star luxury interiors and contemporary, boutique accommodation. All set in stunning private country woodland surroundings.

A big trend we are noticing for the “savvy budget wise couple” is utilising village halls and publicly owned spaces which, with a little imagination, can be dressed up to achieve a real wow factor. We’ve recently worked with firms like Get Knotted and Carnival Chaos on a number of weddings like this where a humble village or town hall has been transformed into a stunning wedding day location.
If you have space at home or fancy hiring the lawns of stately homes such as Bowhill, Abbotsford or Mellerstain House, then the picture perfect marquee could be for you.
We work with well know and respected marquee hire firms such as Best Intent, Cheviot Marquee Hire, Greenfield Marquees and Olympus marquees to create truly stunning locations for your special occasion. The luxury of this option is that you are afforded a blank canvas which can be built to your exact specifications. If you have the imagination then anything is possible!
We hope this has given you some inspiration for where to hold your next event or special occasion. You can find more detail on many of the venues mentioned here on our website but there are many more venues not listed here so please feel free to contact us and pick our brains.
