The competition is run by Business Gateway and The Herald newspaper and the winners were announced at a glittering black tie ceremony in Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel.
I picked up the trophy on the company’s behalf and it has now taken pride of place in our Kelso office. We’re delighted that we’ve been able to fly the flag for the Scottish Borders and for the region’s family businesses. We believe we offer a special level of care and commitment that our clients appreciate and its great to have this recognised.
I was the only member of our family to attend on the night as my brother Christian and our mum Gill were busy doing what we do best – organising a fantastic event for our clients. So while I was hobnobbing with some of the country’s most illustrious family businesses, the rest of the family were working hard serving up a delicious private dinner to 35 guests at Ferniehurst Castle.
They feasted on Orkney Potted Shrimp, French Onion Soup with Gruyere Croutons, 60-day aged Border Sirloin and Crème Brulee with Raspberry Sorbet and Shortbread. Delicious!
We were very touched that the client interrupted the dinner to announce our Award success – a gesture that we believe shows the warm regard felt towards us by our clients, and that we also feel towards them. We have provided event catering services for many of them for around 20 years and want to send them a heartfelt thanks for their support.
